The International Telecoms Week was a new conference and client for me and I enjoyed both!  The show was at the Hyatt instead of McCormick Place Convention Center so it was also a nice change of scenery.  At the conference, my duties consisted of relaying clients, new and old, to CIMA‘s various account reps and helping to keep the schedule on time.  I guess you could say I was secretary for the week.  On the second day of the show I attended and worked that their private industry party, mingling with guests and passing out wristbands.  There was lots of fun had by all.  I hope the conference is held in Chicago again next year.

National Restaurant Show

As with most other spokesmodels in Chicago, the National Restaurant Show is my favorite show of the year!  And it’s even better when I’m working with a great client like Aervoe Industries.  I’ve worked with them a few times so it’s easy to dive in when I already have all the product knowledge.  Of Aervoe’s extensive product list, we were demoing their line of Max Burton Induction Cooktops.  It’s an incredible technology that’s much safer than traditional cooktops, is portable, more energy efficient, and cooks 80% faster!  Such an easy sell!  When I’m not at the booth, I’m more than happy to walk the aisles and sample all the various types of foods, snacks, and drinks.  And because the NRA is such a large show, many of my friends get booked and it’s a great time to see some of them on my breaks as well.

It was bittersweet working my final show of the 2011 – 2012 Auto Show Season in Calgary, Canada with LINCOLN.  It has been an incredible journey traveling the country, making new friends, learning about cars and luxury hospitality, and most importantly sharing that knowledge and excitement with all the car enthusiasts along the way.  I’ve grown so much both personally (I’m even more independent, believe it or not!) and professionally (a lot of on stage presentations and working past being an attractive female to engage the male consumers with actual product knowledge) throughout and I will carry this experience with me always.

As for the Calgary Auto Show, it was definitely a different kind of challenge than the other shows have been.  For starters, right when the team got to the airport ready to go, we found out that we would no longer be presenting the 2012 LINCOLN MKX that we had all been preparing for weeks but would in fact be presenting the brand new 2013 LINCOLN MKS!  It certainly made my heart race a little faster getting on stage having only a brief period of time for preparation but we all managed to pull out strong and solid performances (see my video below).  Another challenge was that the Canadians use a different currency and metric system, so we had some extra calculations but everything was great.  I loved exploring the city on my down time and learning about the cowboy culture (who knew!?).

The last stop is Detroit for the Wrap Up Party and I can hardly wait to be reunited with the team for laughs and sharing memories of the season.  Hopefully we’ll be able to do it all over again next year!

It was such a nice change of pace from my latest Auto and tradeshow work to be called in for a commercial, especially when I got on set and walked into my dream home!  I shot a spot for the Chicago Kitchen Center in a gorgeous house in the heart of Chicago.  I had a great time acting in the space, moving about the kitchen and discovering all the incredible features it had to offer while the cameras rolled.  I can’t wait until I own a place and can build a beautiful kitchen like this!  Stay tuned for the final product to air on TV or come back and visit my website.

Happy Easter from Alice in Wonderland

The Peninsula Hotel Chicago is gorgeous any day of the year but the Alice in Wonderland themed Easter Brunch was over the top! From the complete seafood buffet to the chocolate easter desserts everything looked beautiful.  It was such a delight being part of the excitement as Alice and the Mad Hatter.  We greeted guests, took photos with the kids and helped out with the easter egg hunts.  We were definitely a hit! One woman, whose daughter seemed enamored with Alice (myself), even asked if I did birthdays! Wouldn’t that be fun?

Even though I’m clearly not in the medical field, I can’t help but take interest in all the latest medical developments when working at these conferences.  And the American Association for Cancer Research was no exception.  It was such an inspiration to converse with the intelligent minds behind the research looking to cure this deadly disease.  I represented Daiichi-Sankyo, assisting the company in distributing educational premiums.

Working with Kuvings Silent Juicer again was so much fun! This time, instead of shooting a commercial with the Juicer, I gave live product demonstrations at the International Housewares Show and served up fresh orange juice to attendees as they gathered around this impressive machine.  No one could help but marvel at how quiet it is and how delicious the healthy juices were.  I probably peeled over 200 oranges in 3 days but it was so much fun!

Brittany Mitchell Representing Simplicity

What girl doesn’t love the American Beauty Show?  I know I love working at it and this year I got to work with Simplicity Hair Extensions by Tressallure.  I’ve never had hair extensions so I was really excited to see what they were all about.  The best party about Simplicity Hair Extensions is that they’re much faster to apply, they don’t damage your hair and they help save you time and money!  In under an hour I had a full set of extensions in my hair and I couldn’t even tell the difference between my hair and the (real) extension hair because it blended perfectly. The stylist finished off by giving me gorgeous waves.  I then took to the aisle to show off my new ‘do and spread the word to hairdressers from all over.  We got a lot of great attention and had a great time!

Fallon Neon Signs

Working with Fallon Signs at the Chicago Dental Society was a fun change of pace from the Auto Show.  Dentists couldn’t help being drawn in by the neon teeth and idea of their name in lights.  We attracted a lot of attention and placed many order forms for dental practices around the country.

If you need a neon sign, Fallon Signs can customize just about anything.  Visit their site at www.FallonNeon.com

LincolnBrittany Mitchell with the 2013 Lincoln MKZ Concept Car

I’ve just wrapped up 2 months of back to back Auto Shows with LINCOLN.  It was a lot of hard work but an absolute blast!  I started the year off at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.  There was a lot of excitement surrounding the LINCOLN display as the new 2013 MKZ Concept Car was finally unveiled.  It was so much fun being a part of the buzz and watching the masses crowd around to see the vehicle.  It also wasn’t hard to notice that the LINCOLN display was by far the most impressive  - from the Hoberman Spheres, the LINCOLN Art Gallery, the LINCOLN Performance Ehxibit, the MKZ Concept and more – there was so much to take in.  Below you can see pictures of the display and the Edisel Ford Speedster, another one of the exciting sites at the NAIAS.  From Detroit I headed straight for Washington DC where we were lucky enough to have the MKZ Concept with us again which continued to steal the show.  After 12 days I returned home to in time to work the Chicago Auto show – the largest in the country.  It’s nice to have some time off but I’m really looking forward to my next stop in Calgary, Canada!
